We offer a four-week training program for new hires, quarterly Austin University classes, monthly e-newsletter on horticulture-related topics, and tuition reimbursement for related field of study.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS

This program can provide college students with an array of experience in the industry, including construction, management, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, plant identification & crew management.

The Yellowstone Landscape Group internship program has been developed to foster a positive learning experience for students looking to start a career in the horticultural industry, particularly the landscape maintenance area.
This well-planned program exposes students to the equipment and techniques used in the landscape maintenance and installation field. It is both challenging and diverse and stresses the importance of professional communication skills throughout the internship.
A rotating schedule and learning objectives will be clearly defined before the student begins, which allows the branch manager, intern mentor and student to develop a program that best suits the interests of the student and the needs of the branch. An evaluation system has been developed to assist the mentor in evaluating the student and allows the student to track their progress and evaluate their level of skill in each area.
Students will be paired with a mentor who will act as their main supervisor and will be a person the student can go to if they have questions or concerns. The mentor will share their management philosophy and help the student develop their own management style, as well as provide feedback throughout the program.
Professional development is an important component of the internship program, and we offer outside activities and field trips to enhance a student's exposure to the horticultural environment as well as a speaker's forum covering topics relative to the industry.
We offer a competitive hourly wage and monthly housing stipend.
